Douglas Bruce’s Message To His Party: No! No! No!

Many Republican lawmakers are coming into this year’s session hoping to show “unity” and the “commitment to fundamental tenets of conservatism.” But when it comes to tackling Colorado’s pine beetle infestation or giving parents a break on school supplies, or GOP-highlights like requiring proof of citizenship to vote, don’t even ask contrarians like Douglas Bruce to get on board.On Dec. 27, Colorado House Minority Whip Cory Gardner (R-Yuma) sent a letter to his colleagues, identifying a slew of bills that he and other GOP headers hope everyone in the party will sign off on.

Some of the bills address topics that many Republicans have in the past couple of years seized on – like illegal immigration ond requiring proof of citizenship to vote. Among this year’s planned bills:
