Science Sunday: More Harm Than Good From Biofuels?

Separate reports question the carbon reduction and environmental benefits of popular new renewable fuels.Biofuels, recently the darling of farmers and technogeeks alike, have taken quite a beating this week. While the Environmental Protection Agency proudly announced it was raising the required level of non-petroleum vehicle fuel to 7.76 percent, separate research from the Swiss government and the Nature Conservancy says, “Hold on there a second,” these fuels aren’t really so good for the environment.
