A barrel of shooting fun

In the wake of this week’s U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Washington, D.C.’s handgun ban, Independence Institute types will have something to celebrate Saturday at the conservative thinktank’s sixth annual Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Sporting Clay Shoot in Bennett, Colo.

Thursday’s historic, 5-4 decision is both an ideological victory and a more personal win for the Independence Institute, whose own David Kopel filed an amicus brief in the case.

And, in the wake of the decision, the revelers may consider changing the party’s theme. After all, “Have fun while it’s still legal” is just a bit outdated.
