DNC Goody bags from the Goodwill

In another move to generate community involvement and overall goodwill, the Democratic National Convention is literally using Goodwill employees to stuff goody bags for delegates and members of the media.

Goodwill Industries will donate the assembling, packaging and delivery services of its developmentally disabled employees to the Denver host committee, the local organizing arm of the convention.

The workers, who will be paid, will assemble 20,000 goody bags, each containing more than 40 donated items, according to the host committee.

Goodwill has not disclosed how much its donation is worth, and the host committee won’t disclose a list of donors or their donation amounts until Oct. 15, according to committee spokesman Chris Lopez.
