Biden sets ‘Early Vote for Change’ rallies in Greeley, Commerce City

Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden plans to take his bus tour through Colorado on Tuesday and Wednesday with “Early Vote for Change” rallies scheduled for Greeley, Commerce City, Colorado Springs and Pueblo. It will be Biden’s first visit to the state since accepting his party’s nod at the Democratic National Convention in August and comes a day after Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin barnstorms the state.

Set to coincide with the start of early voting in Colorado this week, Biden’s visit kicks off with a rally at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Butler-Hancock Gymnasium on the University of Northern Colorado campus, 501 20th Ave., in Greeley. Tickets aren’t required, but the Obama campaign urges supporters to RSVP.

Tuesday afternoon Biden will appear at a rally at 2:30 p.m. at Adams City High School’s Krogh Field House, 4625 E 68th Ave., in Commerce City. Required tickets can be reserved here or picked up at the following Obama campaign offices on Monday:

• Thornton Campaign for Change Office?, 550 Thornton Parkway, Suite 114?, Thornton
• Commerce City Campaign for Change Office?, 6145 E. 72nd Ave.?, Commerce City

Parking is limited; free parking and shuttles are available to the Commerce City rally starting at at 1:30 p.m. from the Mile High Greyhound Park, 6200 Dahlia St.

Biden plans to hold rallies in Colorado Springs and Pueblo on Wednesday, but details were not yet available Monday morning.

Palin appeared at a rally Monday morning at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs, followed by a rally at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland at noon. She travels to the Western Slope for a 7 p.m. rally at Suplizio Field at Lincoln Park, 12th Street and NorthAvenue, in Grand Junction. Doors open at 5 p.m. It’s Palin’s fourth visit to the state since the Republican National Convention.
