Hickenlooper taps CSU-Pueblo President Garcia as running mate

That’s the news announced today in Denver. Would-be lieutenant governor Joseph Garcia is not a politician. His resume suggests he is a brainy attorney who has worked as an administrator and manager at universities and in government. Notable, given the burning immigration debate ongoing around the country and the entrance of anti-illegal immigration warrior Tom Tancredo into the Colorado governor’s race last week, is the fact that Garcia is Latino and may well speak Spanish as well as Harvard English.

The Colorado Independent’s Joseph Boven is filing a report from the announcement.

There’s nothing up yet on the pick at Hickenlooper’s campaign twitter feed. (Who’s in charge?) But there is a link to a photo of Hickenlooper reveling in the U.N. bicycle plot his tea party / GOP opponent Dan Maes believes Hickenlooper is advancing to take away our freedoms.

That’s Hickenlooper with co-conspirator U.S. Transportation Secretary and former Republican Rep. Ray LaHood and other card-carrying members of the pro-bicycle anti-sovereignty movement.
