Clinton records robo-call for Romanoff

Former President Bill Clinton recorded a message in support of U.S. Senate candidate and former Colorado Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff that’s going out by robo-call today to Democratic voters across the state.

Democrats receiving the call will hear, in part, this message :

“Hi, this is Bill Clinton. I am supporting Andrew Romanoff for the U.S. Senate and I hope that you will vote for him in Tuesday’s Democratic primary because he has really good ideas on the economy.

“He has proven himself to be one of the most effective legislative leaders in the entire country, and I think that he has the best chance of holding the seat in November … And please mark the top line Andrew Romanoff for U.S. Senate. Thank you.”

The robo-call goes out after President Barack Obama spoke with Democrats on a town hall-style teleconference call last Tuesday in support of incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet.

Democrats can vote for either candidate for the Democratic senatorial nomination until 7 p.m. Tuesday. It’s too late, however, to send in mail-in ballots. To find the nearest drop-off location or polling place, go to the Colorado Secretary of State’s website.
