Polis named chair of New Democrat Education Task Force

Tuesday Congressman Jared Polis (CO-2) was elected to lead the New Democrat Coalition Task Force on Education.

“I proudly represent one of the most progressive and politically active districts in the country, and my constituents expect a fiscally responsible, pro-growth policy agenda, which the New Democratic Coalition represents,” said Polis in a press release. “In order for our economy to grow and thrive, however, we need to prepare our children with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete and succeed. As chairman of the Task Force on Education, I look forward to working with my fellow New Dems to launch a new era of innovation and education reform that will ensure America’s long-term prosperity.”

“I’m pleased to welcome Congressman Polis to the New Democrat Coalition leadership as the Education Task Force Co-Chair,” said Congressman Joseph Crowley (NY-7), Chair of the New Democrat Coalition. “With both real world experience and a long track record as an advocate for education reform, Congressman Polis is well-positioned to lead the New Dems on this critical issue. As we work to ensure our students can compete on a global scale and are prepared for 21st century jobs, Congressman Polis’ expertise will be an invaluable asset to the Coalition.”
