Government in the grocery postponed one week

Congressman Ed Perlmutter has canceled Saturday’s government in the grocery meeting, which had been scheduled at the Safeway at the corner of Colfax and Garrison in Lakewood. He plans to hold the meeting one week later.

His office released the following statement:

Due to continuing votes on the Republican’s 2011 spending plan to fund the government for the rest of the year, Congressman Ed Perlmutter has to postpone the scheduled Government in the Grocery one week. After more than 80 hours of debate, it is still unclear when the Republicans will allow a final vote on the 2011 budget, therefore it is not possible for Ed to return to Colorado in time to conduct the one-on-one meetings with constituents at Safeway tomorrow.

The Government in the Grocery will go forward on Feb. 26, 2011 at the Safeway at Colfax and Garrison in Lakewood from 10 a.m. – noon.
