North Carolina’s extends voting hours — in some counties

Robeson County in North Carolina is extending hours for voters after running out of ballots earlier today, causing delays in a heated race between Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan and Republican opponent Thom Tillis.

Robeson is south of Fayetteville on the South Carolina border. N.C. state law allows board to extend hours if there is a delay of more than 15 minutes.

The state Board of Elections voted to keep polls open 45 minutes in Robeson County, but not in Johnston and Lincoln counties who allegedly also ran short on ballots for voters.
