WATCH: Sen. Udall gives closing pitch at Auraria campus GOTV rally

Colorado Democrats were out in force on campuses statewide today getting out the vote in the last hours of the election. Embattled incumbent Democrats Sen. Mark Udall and Gov. John Hickenlooper joined two newbie candidates for attorney general and secretary of state, Adams County District Attorney Don Quick and University of Colorado Regent Joe Neguse, respectively, to make their final pitches to a group of about 150 young voters.

The candidates touchstone campus issues included Sen. Udall’s efforts to simplify the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) form down to just two questions, Hickenlooper’s signing of the ASSET bill granting undocumented students in-state tuition, and, of course, reducing the cost of tuition and student debt loads.

“Me and my boyfriend have so much student loan debt,” said University of Colorado, Denver student Kenzie Simmons. “I think it’s nice that they’re willing to come out and talk to people one-on-one about those sorts of issues.”
