McCain sets stop in Colorado Springs

In only the second campaign event scheduled after he accepts his party’s nomination for president, John McCain will appear at a rally Saturday morning in Colorado Springs.

Dubbed a “Road to Victory Rally,” the Colorado Springs event is set for 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the Colorado Jet Center, 1575 Aviation Way. It’s the latest in a string of visits by McCain to a state both campaigns have said is a crucial battleground in the presidential election. On the way to Colorado, McCain plans a stop in Michigan, and has scheduled a rally Saturday evening in Albuquerque, N.M.

According to the campaign’s Web site , McCain will be accompanied by his wife, Cindy, and “the Vice Presidential Nominee,” presumably Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Tickets are free but must be picked up at any of eight McCain headquarters statewide. Find a list and make reservations here. The link also includes a map to the rally.
