Election in Progress
Tomorrow, four weeks from the official November 7, 2006 election date is the last day to register to vote in Colorado.
But, absentee ballots are already in the mail (although they won’t arrive today, Columbus Day, for voters who haven’t received their ballot already), so the 2006 election in Colorado is already in progress.
In some races more than half of ballots will be cast early or absentee, so in a very real sense, October is an election in progress, rather than merely a time of waiting for the decisive date.
