Porn protesters push the weirdness envelope at the DNC

On day 3 of the DNC, it’s official: we’ve seen it all on the protest front. An organization calling itself Stop Bird Porn marched on Denver’s 16th Street Mall Wednesday, warning people that “bird watchers are voyeurs who seek vicarious sexual gratification in the woods” by observing “God’s defenseless creatures mating.”

Where are Denver’s homeless during the DNC?

Denver's social service providers beefed up for the Democratic National Convention to make sure that the city's homeless were well cared for during the chaotic event. But those efforts may have been for naught. According to Greta Walker, spokeswoman with the Denver Rescue Mission, it was business as usual at the Lawrence Street shelter. Though the organization provided 300 beds over the typical 200, just 250 cots were occupied throughout the week.

Democrats come out swinging

The gloves came off. A line was drawn in the sand. While the first night of the Democratic National Convention was about family, and the second night emphasized party unity, then the third night is best described as a political beat down. The list of Democratic heavyweights included President Bill Clinton, John Kerry and Barack Obama's new running mate Sen. Joe Biden. All three attacked the Republican Party, John McCain and America's current direction.
