Colorado GOP donors fly below the radar with maze of 527...

In Colorado, organizing, infrastructure and fundraising within the Democratic Party and progressive organizations are the stuff of legend. The story of how liberal mega-millionaires and single-minded cooperation on the left turned this formerly solid red state to purple and blue have been told and retold for years. The story of coordination among conservatives groups, however, and the way millions of dollars each election cycle slosh to candidates and causes on the right has received relatively scant attention.

Independence Institute on Obamacare: It’s not about the Commerce Clause

The Independence Institute, a Denver-based free-market think tank that has lead the charge in Colorado against the Affordable Care Act, has filed what it is calling two "potentially game changing" briefs with the U.S. Supreme Court. The court this week is hearing arguments on the constitutionality of the two-year-old law.

Cain harassment news: Ah the cash, the laughs!

The harassment story has been a source of off-color jokes for conservative-politics pundits like Rush Limbaugh. And in Colorado, libertarian think tank funnyman Jon Caldera couldn't resist cracking wise on the topic in his weekly newsletter.

Virginia health reform ruling bolsters case made by Suthers

Colorado Attorney General John Suthers took a lot of heat when he joined with nearly 20 Republican attorneys general to file a lawsuit against the national health care reform legislation just days after it passed. Detractors saw the suit as a bitter move less about law than about political spectacle. Defenders of Suthers told the Colorado Independent that Suthers was vindicated on Monday when a federal judge in Virginia declared a key provision of the health care law unconstitutional.
