Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama broke into tears in front of a crowd of 25,000 at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte as he broke the news that his grandmother Madelyn Dunham had died Sunday night in Hawaii. "She was a quiet hero," Obama said of the woman who raised him as a young boy. On the eve of the election, wiping tears from his cheeks, Obama told the crowd, "In just one more day, we have the opportunity to honor all those quiet heroes all across America."

Colorado Governor Bill Ritter is pretty chummy with the Barack Obama campaign, and spoke at his latest Colorado campaign stop in Westminster.
Now, Ritter has sent an e-mail to Obama's listserv, reminding supporters to register to vote. The missive, entitled "It's close in Colorado" was sent out around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

As I’ve made clear before I’m not a huge fan of the protesters here in Denver, but is it legal to surround them on all sides, hold them there, kick out the media, and then pepper spray everyone who’s left?
