Frazier suit dismissed

A court has dismissed an open-records lawsuit against Aurora city councilman and right-to-work proponent Ryan Frazier, according to The Denver Post.

Frazier, who sat down for an interview with Colorado Independent earlier this year, claimed the lawsuit was politically motivated and a direct result of his support for the controversial right-to-work amendment that will go before Colorado voters this fall.

If approved by voters, the ballot initiative would toughen the rules for establishing unions in the state. The measure asks voters to prohibit employers from deducting union dues or their equivalent from wages.

The open-records request, filed by an Aurora resident, sought documents related to political donations Frazier had received from Carollo Engineers, a company the Aurora city council unanimously awarded a $9 million contract last year.
