Politico Magazine asks one of the great existential questions of our times, or at least one of the great ones on an election day, which is: Why do voters believe lies?
And guess which voters (and politician) they feature?
That’s right. It’s us and it’s Cory Gardner and his interview/smackdown with Eli Stokols in which Gardner repeatedly answered the question of why he supported the federal personhood bill but not the state personhood ballot initiative by saying, “There is no federal personhood bill.”
Of course, there is. But the reason so many believe him anyway is that in politics we’re not seeking truth, but seeking a way to support our candidate.[ Image detail via Politico. ]
